What We’re Building at Nebraska Power Volleyball Club

Starting a volleyball club is about a lot more than putting teams on the court.

At Nebraska Power Volleyball Club, we have spent a lot of time thinking about what we want athletes and families to experience when they become part of NPVC. Yes, we want to teach great volleyball. Yes, we want our teams to compete. And yes, we want to win.

But the bigger vision goes beyond a scoreboard.

We want NPVC to be a place where young athletes are challenged to become better players while also becoming more confident, resilient and accountable young women. Volleyball gives us an incredible environment to practice those things. Players learn to communicate when they are uncomfortable. They learn to trust teammates. They learn how to respond after making a mistake. They learn that improvement requires work that nobody sees.

Those lessons matter long after the last point of a match.

That is also why development will always be central to what we do. Every athlete arrives with a different level of experience, physical development, confidence and skill. Our job is not simply to evaluate where a player is today. Our job is to help her move forward.

We want athletes to compete for positions and opportunities while still understanding that their teammates are not their enemies. We want them to celebrate each other, challenge each other and understand that strong teams are built when everyone in the gym is getting better.

We also want to build a club community where families know what we stand for. Respect matters. Effort matters. Integrity matters. Serving others matters. How we treat people matters.

There will be wins, losses, great weekends and difficult ones. There will be athletes who have incredible matches and athletes who struggle. All of it is part of the process.

Our goal is to build something that lasts beyond one season: a club athletes are proud to represent, a community families want to be part of, and an environment that helps young women discover just how much they are capable of.

That is what we are building at Nebraska Power Volleyball Club.
