Growth Doesn't Take the Summer Off

Summer is one of the most important seasons in an athlete's development.

While the club season may be over, the athletes who continue investing in their growth during the summer often see the biggest improvements when competition returns. That's why Nebraska Power Volleyball Club encourages every athlete to embrace a Summer Improvement Challenge—not just to become a better volleyball player, but to become a more confident and resilient person.

Improvement Happens Through Consistency

Most growth doesn't come from one big breakthrough. It comes from small actions repeated over time.

A few extra serves. Better communication. Improved footwork. Showing up with a positive attitude.

At Nebraska Power, we teach athletes that success is built through commitment, discipline, and a willingness to learn. The players who make the biggest strides are often the ones who stay coachable and continue working even when no one is watching.

Building More Than Volleyball Skills

Volleyball is what brings us together, but the lessons learned on the court extend far beyond the game.

Confidence

Confidence grows when athletes challenge themselves, develop new skills, and discover they can accomplish hard things.

Resilience

Every athlete faces setbacks. Learning how to recover, adapt, and keep moving forward is one of the most valuable skills sports can teach.

Leadership

Leadership isn't just for team captains. We encourage every athlete to lead through effort, attitude, accountability, and encouragement.

Teamwork

Volleyball teaches athletes how to trust others, communicate effectively, and work toward a common goal.

Taking Advantage of Summer Opportunities

One of the advantages of being a Nebraska Power athlete is access to additional opportunities for growth throughout the year.

Current Nebraska Power athletes can take advantage of the insights provided by Wired Edge (wiredege.co), helping them continue to learn more about themselves as athletes and asking it's virtual coach for ideas of drills or activities to work on during the off season!

Combined with skill development on the court at camps from NPVC (www.nepowervb.com/camps) or other clubs, these opportunities help athletes stay active, build confidence, and prepare for the upcoming season.

Athletic development isn't just about becoming a better volleyball player—it's about building healthy habits, discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The Power of Community

One of the things we value most at Nebraska Power is the community surrounding our athletes.

Families, coaches, and teammates all play a role in creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow. Some of our favorite success stories aren't about trophies—they're about athletes gaining confidence, overcoming obstacles, and becoming stronger teammates and leaders.

Your Summer Challenge

This summer, commit to improving one area of your game—and yourself.

Maybe it's your serve. Maybe it's your communication. Maybe it's your confidence. Maybe it's taking advantage of opportunities like Wired Edge training to become a stronger, faster, more complete athlete.

Growth doesn't require perfection. It requires consistency.

The work you put in today will pay off tomorrow.
